Delivery & Shipping
Please allow up to two working days for dispatch. We are usually able to pack orders much more quickly and aim to have them ready for collection/ delivery the next working day but at busy periods we may need a little longer to get your goodies ready. If you need your order quickly please do give us a call, we will be happy to see how we can help.
As a preference, all orders are shipped using Royal Mail Tracked 48/24 services. Where these are not available orders are sent via Royal Mail 2nd/1st Class or an alternative courier service such as UPS. You can select whether you would like order sent Tracked 25/1st Class or Tracked 48/ second class at the checkout.
The chosen shipping method is based on the order value, weight of the order and where it’s going to, but we are always careful to select the most cost effective and efficient service for our customers.
If you require your order more urgently and are unsure if the delivery options will suit you, please get in touch by phone or email in advance of placing the order.
If you would like your order to get through the post more quickly then please look at our Express Delivery options. Please just note these services help speed-up the time the order is in the post but we apologise that we cannot currently offer next day delivery via the website. However, if you need an order by the following day please do get in touch so we can see how we can help. We can usually assist with next day delivery on any orders received by 11 am.
For all you lovely people local to York don’t forget we can offer click and collect and local cycle courier options.
Click and collect is available during our shop opening hours. Need it gift wrapped on collection? Just add this option in the checkout.
Click and Collect orders are usually available by the next working day but if you need it for a quick lunch time collection just give us a call to let us know.
Cycle Courier - for delivery addresses with in the York Outer Ring Road or surrounding villages we also have a local cycle courier option. Deliveries costs from £2.50 per delivery.
Orders received by 12 noon can be dispatched and delivered the same day (excluding Sundays and Mondays). Orders made after 12 noon will be delivered by the next working day. Cycle deliveries are available Tuesdays - Saturdays.
Whilst we navigate the post Brexit export rules we apologise that we have temporarily suspended shipping to Europe/ overseas. We apologise for this pause in service and look forward to posting to our European/ overseas customers again soon.
Delivery Addresses & Missed Deliveries
Please make sure the shipping address is correct. To avoid delays in receiving your order we recommend having your item shipped to a daytime or work address.
If delivery has been attempted while you were out you should receive a card with detailed instructions of how to obtain your parcel from either Royal Mail or the courier. You will have a period from date of attempted delivery to rearrange delivery – after this date your items will automatically be returned to us. If the item is returned in this way we will contact you and will need to charge for re-posting the item to you.
If an item has not been received please check that a card hasn’t been left or that the item hasn’t been left in a safe place or with a neighbour.
Making Remote Gifting Joyful
We are more than happy to wrap your gifts for free and send these, together with your gift message, directly to your recipient; just select this option at the checkout.
We use Stripe which is a safe and secure portal to buy online. You can use your debit or credit card to make a one-off secure payment.
If you would rather proceed with a transaction in person or have any questions please ring us at the shop on +44 (0)1904 671155 to place your order and make payment via debit or credit card via a secure payment link (sent via email). We apologise we are unable to take payments over the phone.
If it’s not what you expected, you got the wrong thing or changed your mind – we understand. Contact us via email as soon as you can detailing the item you’re returning and why and we’ll get in touch to arrange a refund or exchange.
The item must be returned unused, “as new” and in a saleable condition within 14 days of the date received to receive a full refund. For purchases made from November - December we offer an extended returns period allowing you to return goods for an exchange/ refund (provided they are still “as new” and in a saleable condition) up to 31st January.
Postage will not be refunded in the case of items returned/ exchanged due to a change of mind. We recommend that you obtain proof of postage and additional insurance/tracked delivery where necessary as we cannot refund items which are lost of damaged in transit.
If the item is faulty, wrong or damaged upon delivery we will email you a returns label to send the item back to us free of charge.
We will process your refund or replacement as soon as possible after receiving the goods back to the shop.
