The Alexandra and Ainsworth estate was designed by Neave Brown and completed in 1978. Constructed from site-cast, white reinforced concrete, the estate consists of 520 apartments, school, community centre and youth club. In 2017, Neave Brown was awarded the Royal Gold Medal by RIBA, which is now considered a landmark of British social housing, and is Grade II* listed.
