People Will Always Need Plates - Cromwell Tower, Barbican London - 25cl mug
Blue or Red
25cl bone china mug featuring the Cromwell Tower at London's Barbican.
Cromwell Tower is one of three triangular towers of 43 and 44 storeys built as landmarks to the Barbican, designed from 1955 onwards to return a residential population to the City. Oliver Cromwell was married in nearby St Giles, Cripplegate. The boat-like balconies were designed for wind resistance and the pick-hammered concrete surfaces responded to the monumental external load-bearing structure.
