A collaborative print between Alison Hardcastle and Snowhome.
The word map is made using selected text that has a certain relationship to its particular geographic location.
The words used range from regional specialities to historical fact, from local celebrities to indigenous species.
Stereotypes, clichés and typecasts help to build an archetypical map of text to chart the infinitely diverse character of the British Isles.
Here typographic skills have turned jumbled lists of words into a lovingly hand drawn map which is as full of personality as the landscape that it covers.
Please note - the labels on these maps had a printing error that notes the size as 70x100 cm but these are still the 60x80 cm maps.
