Sailor Pen’s Shikiori ranges are produced as interpretations of the four seasons and the archetypal images each conjures up in Japanese traditional culture. As we are keen advocates of slowing down and stopping to enjoy the world around us and the simple pleasures it holds for us all to soak in we are pleased to base our Sailor Pen range around this celebratory concept.
The Shikiori Tsukuyo no Minamo (Moonlit Water) pen range is an imagining of the seasons seen reflected in night-time water with, in each case, the white finial representing the moon.
Pink: Yozakura or moonlit cherry blossom. The cherry blossom is in Japan deeply evocative of the spring; but it is also representative of the impermanent nature of all things in life, and why we should enjoy what we have here & now.
Here, the slight sparkle in the finish represents moonlit cherry blossom, as it is washed away in a stream of freshly melted snow.
