These wonderfully sculpted figures are made by Laboratoria D'Estorias using preserving the traditional techniques and crafts in the pottery-making town of Caldas de Rainha in Portugal. The body is a rich slick glazed ceramic and the feet are cast bronze.
Each piece they make is drawn from a story - be that a modern allegory, traditional tale, myth or poem. Here, the grasshopper waits, patiently and still.
